GARRETT OLANO:
Show in for Kannabi is going to be basically becoming a one stop shop for a candidate who uses them. So only do we want to offer great credible news and entertainment and we want to bring in much more.

Dan Humiston:
It's the MJBulls podcast a show about raising cannabis capital. I'm Dan Humiston. And on today's show how knowing the pulse of the industry helped this young cannabis entrepreneur create an industry information hub.

Dan Humiston:
The raising cannabis capital series we are joined by GARRETT OLANO the CEO of cannabis. Garrett welcome to the MJBulls podcast.

GARRETT OLANO:
Thank you. You.

Dan Humiston:
You know I'm on the Kannabi Web site right now and it is truly an information hub for everything cannabis. I mean there are stories about cannabis culture cannabis food cannabis news you have videos on here. Tell us that cannot be Web site got started.

GARRETT OLANO:
Great question. So how we got started it was a page back in the day called WikiLeaks and noticed that there was kind of a new age for candidates information and cannabis things are kind of combined on a low platform and eventually kind of led Kennedy which we then started hosting an array of both informational unfortunately news and entertainment content just to kind of help educate people on the cannabis industry and industry updates.

Dan Humiston:
Yeah I mean I can say as we're talking I'm bouncing around here you know there's a ton of stories on here. Some of them you write it looks like it in some of them. I don't know if you have other writers for you. Is that how it works.

Yes. So we actually few contributors should contribute and I'm one of the writers myself and just kind of us three cannabis country and about the country on a daily basis.

Dan Humiston:
So you've taken our like a story like right now I'm reading the story about Walgreens response to CBS by selling CBD products and fifteen hundred stores. That's a national story. You take that and you analyze it in your report.

GARRETT OLANO:
Exactly. So we'll kind of put together a few credible source is kind of a read over the data and then kind of come up with a summary and really kind of post it up.

Dan Humiston:
Oh I see. Can you do that same thing for for food reviews too.

Dan Humiston:
Is that how it works with the food. Yeah exactly. That's really cool. That's really cool. Tell us about the business model and a cannabis information hub website. How do you make money on this.

GARRETT OLANO:
How do you monetize it so monetization is actually something that we just started out and we started there about a month ago and we basically just hosted simple ads are meant to advertise them. And that's how we started. During all the revenue for the Web site and before then you are purely just an educational right OK.

Dan Humiston:
So if an advertiser wants to reach all of your viewers they just buy an ad and it shows up when people click on to some of the stories.

GARRETT OLANO:
Exactly. And then we also offer some other revenue streams like or created in-house video for you or we'll put you in an article and things of that nature.

Dan Humiston:
Oh OK.

Dan Humiston:
I want to take a minute to remind all of our listeners about a new podcast produced by MJbulls media Hemp Barons is a weekly show about the company's products and entrepreneurs who are using this amazing plant to create and improve the products we use every day. You can listen to Hemp Barons every Tuesday on Apple iTunes Stitcher Spotify wherever you get your podcasts from.

Dan Humiston:
So you've been bootstrapping it up till now you've you financed. I mean it's a tech you're really attack tech company but you haven't had any investment whatsoever you've pretty much financed this yourself.

GARRETT OLANO:
Yes I got a small funding from a family member who was funding a five thousand dollars. And we just is that basically funding something now. Oh and everything has just been organic.

Dan Humiston:
Wow. I mean that's a it's a big accomplishment because like I said this is very comprehensive Web site. Is a lot of content on here. Can you imagine how much content is on the site but there is a ton. Well. Moving forward what sort of stage 2 for cannabis show.

GARRETT OLANO:
Stage 2 for Kannabi is going to be basically becoming a one stop shop for a candidate who uses the. So not only do we want to offer great credible news and entertainment content but we want to be offering them much more so content is the dispensary locations doctors and it is everything you need in one single platform.

Dan Humiston:
Ok well in order to do that that's going to take more than the 5000 investment.

GARRETT OLANO:
Very true.

Dan Humiston:
So during the process of raising money can you tell us a little bit about your capital raise.

GARRETT OLANO:
Yeah definitely. So right now we're looking Greens anywhere from 75 to 100 thousand dollars. And in exchange for that we're looking to get away about 15 to 25 percent equity okay.

Dan Humiston:
And if people I see on your Web site there's a there's a tab that actually says invest. So if somebody wants to reach out to you to talk about being involved with your organization probably the best way to do it is this is go right on your Web site the cannabis Web site and cannabis is spelled k a and in a b i k and an FBI. Just click on the invest now. Yeah. Definitely. Okay. We'll also have all of Garrett's information on the MJBulls website along with. Kannabi web address in more information about their company. So it's been great talking to you about this. It's an exciting project. I mean for only being out of school for a couple of years you are on a roll right now.

GARRETT OLANO:
Thank you very much. I really appreciate that. Yeah. I'm anxious to see how stage two plays out but I think you're really onto something. I mean read some of these articles when we hang up. Thank you.

Dan Humiston:
So let's stay in touch. And good luck.

GARRETT OLANO:
Thank you so much and thank you again for having me on.

Dan Humiston:
You're welcome.
